Thieving to Retrieving - Bronze
Next Course - Thursday 27th Feb 12-1pm
£120
Chesham
Max x6 dogs
Does your steal items? Is your dog reluctant to drop stolen items or even toys? Does your dog show any resource guarding tendencies?
Or maybe your dog just loves retrieving, and you really want to nail this skill in preparation for doing further obedience or gundog work.
This 4 week course focuses on all things retrieving.
In Bronze we will start to teach the dogs to:
- Take items on cue
- Drop items on cue
- We will try and progress the dogs to retrieving a variety of items
- We will also work on leaving items on cue, building up to an awesome temptation alley.
- Laura will try and tailor the class to the needs of those attending, so if you have any specific problems, you will have an opportunity to discuss this.
Note - if you are dealing with severe aggression at home in relation to resource guarding, it would be wise to have a consultation first (please email Laura at info@mindsalikeanimaltraining.com)
*Dogs must be able to be around other dogs

Vet-care and Grooming - Confident & Cooperative Practical Course
Next Course - Thursday 24th April 2.30-3.30pm
£160
Chesham
Max 6 dogs
4 week practical course plus access to online course (worth £149).
Is your dog anxious or even aggressive at the vets or groomers?
In this course Laura will take you through consent based training techniques and the concept of having a dialogue with your dog instead of working in an entirely goal focused manner, and help you to work through your dog's handling issues. We will also discuss what it means to take a behaviourally minded approach.
Included in the course price is access to The Pet Prep Initiative, Laura's online course, which is a fantastic resource for learning about cooperative care. This course is also being taught to vets, vet nurses, groomers and dog professionals throughout the country. The initiative actively encourages other professionals to work alongside you and your trainer to help transfer your work to the clinical or grooming setting.
